strange phenomenon

I got some working code but there seems to be a strange phenomenon.

I got 2 forms that I want to pass data back and forth to.

In this example I am passing the data in 3 text boxes on form2 to form1. So I created 3 new properties in form1 and then use(I’m using generic names for simplicity):

Form1.passedtext = textbox1.text
Form1.passedtext2 = textbox2.text
Form1.passedtext3 = textbox3.text

And to test it works I then put a
msgbox(me.passedtext)
in a button event procedure on form1.

Now here the strange bit-
If I enter text in all 3 text boxes on form 2 then it works fine but if I leave one of them blank then the message box seems to be empty.

What is that all about?

And why can’t I use public variable to move data across?
