I posted on this forum for years without a driver's license (I have one now) and I never made ridiculous pie-in-the-sky posts about building a server OS to rival commercial Unix and Windows offerings by myself, or posted any nonsense about making Flash games in Python. I'm also a great deal smarter (this is not conceit, it's simple observation) than many adults I know. Talking about putting age limits on this forum is extremely offensive to me, because it implies that the underaged have nothing to contribute.

This reminds me of an anecdote: I have always had a natural gift for spelling. Without having to study, I can remember or guess the spelling of very many words. In every single year in elementary school (except for one, in which the teacher didn't know the rules), I won the spelling bee for my class. In second grade, I lost the school spelling bee on the word "dromedary". In third grade, however, I won the whole thing (for the first but definitely not last time). Third grade, and the school was K-6.

I told you that story so I could mention this: A year or two after I was out of elementary school, the administration decided to restrict the spelling bee to the 4th-6th graders, because they assumed a K-3 student had no chance of winning.

What the fuck, do people have no memory?

I don't really know why I told that story. Anyway, the point is that I hate the idea that everyone under X years old is a retard and/or has nothing useful to contribute.
