Good Resources

I am new to C# so could someone please suggest a good C# book that I could start with? Just so you all know i am not asking you to give me online tutorials. They are helpful but I am not asking for them because I can search for them myself. If you would like to give those links too that would be great.

I used Wrox's Professional C#.
It's pretty good if you have any previous experience with some other high level language. IMHO, it's the best book about c#. It first describes fundamentals of c# language (basic stuff - OOP), then .NET environment, Windows forms, Databases, web programming, COM interoperability, enterprise and windows base services. It has 1397 pages ...

I think the Deitel and Deitel books are great starter books.

I also like the Deitel books. My school recommends them; I think I have like 3 or 4 Deitel books now.

I've always been a big fan os SAMS. I have tons of there books, including the C# in 24hours, and 21 days. Little lengthy sometimes, but still overall great. Read it, and take the time to learn it. You will be off making C# apps in no time

I really like the book, I guess it really depends on your taste. I guess this was just a good book to me. I have the first edition of this book called C# for experienced programmers

I liked this one

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/067...041548?ie=UTF8

Curiously some people dislike it for exactly the reason I liked it, it doesn't require you to use Visual Studio. If you don't plan to use visual studio I would recommend it.
