Well a quick search on google turned this page up. It is from the py2exe wiki and it you have add more to your setup.py.
Google is your friend, if you have a problem, just ask it, believe it just typing "py2exe matplotlib" into google and hitting "I'm feeling lucky" will take you to that page. |

Sorry about that, I saw the first setup.py he posted and didn't look closely enough at the second. Have you tried just packaging one of the matplotlib samples with the given setup.py. If that works then there is something being messed up by combining the 2.
