PHP for the World Wide Web - 2nd Edition

I don't think I could have learned PHP any faster. It is said to be an easy language to learn, and it really helps if you have another language under your belt. I already knew how to program, but didn't know the syntax or commands of PHP. That's where this book comes in. There are no lengthy explaintions. It has lots of simple examples in the book, and then small explaintions on the sides. It also has little tips at the end of each set of steps. It has 13 chapters and ranges from the extreme basics, to intro to dbs. Heck, It even has a chapter on regular expressions for you freaks out there The book also covers how to setup PHP and Mysql, just incase your wondering about that. It's easy to understand, theres not alot of factual reading, and theres lots of code. For a beginner, it would be easy to learn PHP from reading this book. For someone who is experienced in any other language, could probably learn PHP in less than a week, or even a few days depending on how much you read. Regardless, it's still a great reference, and quite often I find it sitting on my desk. It definetly earned a place on my bookshelf, and was worth whatever amount of money I paid for it. I highly recommend it. I don't think I have ever used the word 'it' so many times in one paragraph ever before:p
