Look in your PHP.ini file for the location of your extensions directory. Look and see if "php_mysql.dll" is in the directory. Next, go back to your PHP.ini file and check to see if there's a line like:

I tried installing 5.1.3 (I think) and I kept getting the same error ... all of the dll's were in place and the php.ini file was setup correctly ... it just wouldn't work ... at all ... downgrading to 5.1.1 did the trick ... may still be a problem in 5.1.4 ... try 5.1.1 and see if that works.
