SETI does automagic research towards aliens; this does automagic research towards cancer. I personally feel this is more important.

Got two processors running it - not buying any new machines any time soon though.

I may, but the only pc's I have are a 533 mhz and a 1.5 mhz laptop the is already an HTTP server and I don't know if it can handle the workload.

it runs when the CPU isn't being used, so anything can handle it. Every little bit helps

I have a computer that runs all day long and I'd like to join, but I don't understand what it does and how. Does it have to be connected to the internet a lot? The most important, is it safe/secure and how do you know?

Okey, I've installed it and the first project is 20,000 WU and will take approx. 25 days to complete. Yeah, the computer it's on is really slow, 500MHz But I never turn it off because it doesn't shutdown properly.
Right now it's at 512/20000
