Mouse problems

I know this is programming forums, but I was hoping that someone may be able to help me out here.

I recently bought a wireless optical mouse where the reciever is also a charger, it is a USB device. Being me, I opted for the cheapest one there was that was still functional. Unfortunately it came from Hong Kong and the box only contained the hardware, no software or instructions. There is also no company name or model to be seen anywhere on the box. Altough on the mouse itself it says: "MODEL: SI-105".

The mouse works fine when i plug it in, Windows detects and installs it as a "HIC-Compatible" mouse. The mouse works well for about 10-20 minutes, then it just stops functioning. The cursor doesn't move. There is a blue light on the reciever that flashes when the mouse is moved, but that doesn't flash. The light on the bottom of the mouse stays on (presumably because it is battery powered).

I've tried updating the mouse drivers in the Device Manager of Windows XP SP2, but it says I have the latest drivers. As I said the mouse didn't come with a driver CD and I a google search on the mouse doesn't yeild any results.

Unplugging and replugging the mouse makes it work again.

Does anyone have any ideas why it turns off like that? I'm thinking maybe it has something to do with drawing to much power, having incorrect drivers or it might be going idle after a certain time.

Any thoughts are welcome.

I would just go to overclockers.co.uk and get a new mouse, or go to PC World and get an expensive new mouse.

Well, if you are really concerned about cost, you may have to settle for this.

If only right? But in all honesty, I've had great success with logitech's low end optical mice. Never bothered with wireless though.

Save some money & go to http://www.newegg.com/ProductSort/Su...SubCategory=65 .
You can find some good I/O devices...

BinaryStorm coldDeath lives in the UK, there are plenty of good computer parts internet shops like overclockers.co.uk and ebuyer.com that are UK based. Its all well and good giving a link to an American shop, but thats not very useful. With a UK based shop you can see the price in pounds sterling and you dont have a high delivery price like Ł5 as he had before.

Also if something goes wrong in the transaction you can talk to someone in the UK about the problem and you are also protected more in UK law if you have a problem.

** EDIT : Sorry nemesis... I didn't see your post, and i forgot to check coldDeath's location... Anyway, search for one of those mouses, depending on how much money you have...**
Some recommendations:
- really cheap... 7$, sunbeam 800dpi
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826178003
- 12$, logitech 800dpi
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826104001
- this one is excellent. Logitech MX518, 1600dpi, 32$
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826104178

If you don't need new mouse urgently, save some money and buy MX518...
I have MX510, and it works perfectly; and this one is even better.
