eBooks are the most useless things ever. Books were designed to be read in bed. :p

Access can be controlled if the script is what sends the data to the client rather than redirecting it to a location on the server. Then people can't hotlink to the eBook, but they can certainly email it to people and post it all over the place once they download it.

I don't mean to interupt but I use a couple prog's that have I guess you'd call it a simple form of drm, in that it needs a registry code that is generated based on a p.c.'s id
most allow you to register w/ a couple machines but w/ out that registry code you cannot open the file.. I wouldn't know how to use such a feature but I have read about it being used w/ e-books. sorry if this sounds ludacrous but I'm very green in these matters and that is only topped by a my level of excitement in learning it. please don't flame!

On the other hand, the benefits of eBooks is that you can find almost any eBook on bittorrent.

You don't need a programmer for this. Just make a setup program with a password, maybe you'd need a program for this, to generate the password, so that it's different for each one given out, then email the ebook setupfile seperatly. Easy as pie. Also maybe you could set up a password for the ebook as well. Or do something with computer names or id's...

The thread is over two months old. PLEASE let it die, now. If the OP was in further need of help, he would post. The date is above the user name....
