this is a common view for college freshman taking calculus...

yeah, until you throw in something the formula wasn't designed to handle.

why not use python's echo command?

why not type it in notepad and print it out and put it on your refridgerator?

if i really just wanted to output a sentace, i could say it...with my mouth. or write it on a piece of toilet paper with a crayon. why bother writing a program?

wouldn't THAT be easier?

learning is about doing things the hard way so you understand the underlying mechanics...especially in programming. sometimes making a computer do even the simplest things can require a great amount of effort.

bloodninja, why come in spouting off 4 hours after splinter9x has already been told what he had done "wrong" and apologised for it? Its like you just want to stir things up.

Because everyone's been through this with Splinter9x before and he didn't seem to get it. Maybe if they break it down into a first grade level and use lots of examples he can understand.
