oh, sorry, i didn't realize you were looking for a "WIDNOWS" ide...i've never heard of "WIDNOWS", just windows,*nix, etc.

has anyone else here heard of "WIDNOWS" perhaps? ????????????????/

how can you misstype that twice?

FYI: VS automatically does a system("pause") or eqivalent at the end of your console app. maybe the free VS C++ 6.0 portion does not (but i think it does).

Only when you run it using VS, not when you run it any other way.

The way it works on my version is that it pauses at the end if I run the program using Ctrl-F5 (not through the debugger), but doesn't pause if I run it through the debugger (F5). Its a bit wierd and there is probably a setting for it somewhere, but it hasn't bother me enough to find it.

well of course, i wasn't assuming that VS actually changed the code, i just meant from using the "start without debugging" command from within VS.

1st --> I downloaded Bloodshed Dev-C++ ...really good program

2nd --> I usually post these in a rush as i have mopre importatn things to do...sorry for any spelling errors

3rd ---> Using ctrl + F5 in Visaul Studio (i have the full version) works very nicely...it leaves the console window open
