Well, as u probably have realised by now if you've had the privilage of listening to me complain and rant on about my other problems, that I am creating a simple dos-based rpg. :p Well, I have another question. I am working on making a "score sheet" for the player if he types in a certian thing that will tell him his stats, lvl, race, profession, etc. Well, how can I make a nice looking scoresheet? There must be a way to draw nice horizontal lines, but I have not yet goten that far in my over-900-page book yet.
If someone has a cool idea to make the score sheet nice or any other sugesstions for my game, then they would be gratefully accepted.P.S. also maybe how to make text colored if you aren't too annoyed with me already ![]() P.S.S. and how might I go about making an inventory for the player?

What operating system are you using? If your command-line interface supports Unicode characters (the Windows XP command prompt does, I belive), you can use those to draw the lines: there are non-breaking line characters in the Unicode character set.
As for making text coloured: Windows; Everything Else. |

I'd recommend taking a look at some of the stuff in <iomanip>, or if you're using C style output (which I doubt) you could use printf to make things line up purdylike.

Cool! Sounds good, but I still have 1 question:
How would I go about making an inventory for the player?

for an inventory, I'd probably make a simple class "Item" (maybe subclass it for special items - or just store the type inside if it's simple) and make the inventory a std::list<Item>
that would allow you to edit the inventory with well-documented STL methods |
