Dell E151FPb Flat-Screen Monitor Goes White

My sister's monitor in her room keeps whiting out. This is a recurring problem, and I can't figure out how to get it to stop. At first I thought it may be a problem with the video card, but then I remembered I used to use the same monitor on my Linux box, and it used to do the same thing, though not quite so often. The problem was always fixed by momentarily powering the monitor off, and then powering it back on. This time, however, the monitor does not seem to be "resetting." I searched a bit on google, and it seems that the monitor seems to have this problem, so it's not just an isolated case, I just have been unable to find any fixes for the problem, and unfortunately the monitor is not under warranty anymore. Anyone have any advice on how I might go about fixing this? Thanks in advance for your time and help.

All that trouble shooting when it could have just been discovered with one google. XD XD. Hopefully only took you 10 minutes to try searching on google.

And I don't believe you'd be able to fix the problem. It sounds like something pretty drastic. A completely out of line proposition is to try messing with the refresh rate/resolution/color bits.

All i'm going to say is if you aren't specialized in monitor maintenance/repair, don't fool around with the insides. This is probably just a problem with the RGB settings inside your monitor. The only thing I suspect happening to your monitor would be that the colors are turned up to 255, causing the screen to go blank, or white. I have a monitor with this problem, except only the the blue is dead so my screen is constantly yellow, with the random flash of normality every now and then. If you know someone who knows anything about monitors, get them to look inside of yours, check the colors, check for anything abnormal, then fix it.

PS< If you can't get that fixed, meh, it's only 15 inches. Drop by my place and i'll get you a nice 21" for free .

Wow, that's very nice of you. What state do you live in? Don't worry I don't live in the States, so not going to pick it up, and I have a great 19" LCD monitor, which already is more than just good.

Read my post carefully and you'll know why it's free. It's still a great monitor though, if you can ignore the yellow tint. Gotta love refresh rates of 140Mhz at a resolution of 1240X1024, smooth like a baby.
