downloading program

Hi

I was thinking of making a small download manager program to learn how it works and stuff. Until now, I have been using those windows APIs like "URLDownloadToFile" and ????OpenInternet(whatever) that made everything simple. So I never got to learn how download managers work with downloading and pausing and resuming and stuff. So yeah...I'm sure we all know how "GOOD" I am at googling and getting and giving appropriate information. SO I was wondering if I could get some advice/hints on where to get started.

Thanks in advance

I would go with Python as it is object oriented, loves the internet, and is a nice easy to learn, yet powerful, language. One of my buddies that dosen't post here anymore made an IRC client in Python.

You can always look at the source of some open source download manager to get started.
