Arrow SQl server in win Xp

my problem is that i am unable to install the SQl server that comes with Visual studio dot net in my windows xp?

any alternative ...

MySQL. However, I have MS SQL Server 2005, also, no problem installing it on my XP.

What message is it giving you, because it should install on your machine fine. Also what version of MS SQL?

when i try to install it at in the end of installation it reverts back

also is it necessary to enable server service in xp from (services in control panel)
for running it?

Yes, to the second part, unless the installation automatically does it for you. Don't know what might be wrong with your installation procedure, mine worked right off the CD, no problemo.

there is no problem with installation, but i have disabled some service which i not need in windows xp..
might be due to that?
i will find it out!
