Google and the government
What is everyone's opinion on the Bush administration wanting to review the google search database to see how easy it is "to find porn". The justice department just denied Google's claims of security concerns. http://yro.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=06/02/27/0618215
Without going political, what are soem thoughts? |

My thought would be: searching "porn" is to the invasion of privacy as "weapons of mass destruction" is to the invasion of Iraq.
Both "invasions" have alternative motivations, speckled with hidden agendas. Do you think once the govt has access to the search engines' records (Google or otherwise) to review "porn based keywords", that it would stop there? No. Information is power. They will know anything and everything they want. Furthermore, for those of you that are using the "Search across computers..." within the Google Desktop... turn it off, unless you want your documents stored on a server farm.
