PodCasts

I have been getting really into podcasts and was wonder if anyone else is into them. The only one i have really listened to as of now is called "This Week in Tech" it is created buy former Tech TV staff like Leo Laporte. Patrick Norton, Robert Heron, David Prager, Roger Chang, Kevin Rose, Yoshi, and more that will be on depending on if they can get on or not. Well anyway back to the main question. does anyone have any good podcasts they listen too?

edit: im interested in starting one myself but i dont think i could personally come up with good topics or enough content to create a good show.

Thanks for the info. I don't have an iPod (or any MP3 player for that matter), but I may be getting one soon.

I have my own reasons to be very interested in podcasting . I don't have an iPod or mp3 player but I must say that I think syndicated audio transmissions are a great idea and I shall be looking into the technicalities of this shortly. Has anyone here actually created podcasts? It would be nice to know which pitfalls to avoid....

all the best

Well, there are two different kinds....

1) My online mag, bitwise, is going to have quite a lot of multimedia - for example, I've just been doing a video interview with David Intersimone from Borland. This will be put onsite as a regular Windows media (or maybe Realplayer) video. But I would also like to do audio podcasts with interviews, opinion features, news, discussions and the like - in short, some kind of downloadable technology 'show' (is there such a thing as video podcasting, btw?)

....and

2) I am also working with a radio DJ on an '80s internet radio station. I think it would be fun to make some podcasts with him (maybe some themed shows with music and interviews). I used to be a pop music journo back in the '80s, just before I "switched careers" and got into computers, which explains how I got involved in this project.

One of the problems with any multimedia stuff on the Internet is getting the right balance between video/audio quality and file size. There are still lots of sad, unfortunate people (myself included ) who haven't got broadband (British Telecom says we'll have it by mid July but I'll believe it when I see it) so download speed is still an issue....

all the best
