Hi I'm new here

Hi everyone I'm new here, I've been learning java a bit...

but the reason why I'm posting in the Visual Basics category is that I want to learn it...

My first step is finding a compiler software. Does anyone have any recommendations?

thanks in advance

You can try SharpDevelop for VB .NET.

Keep away from mono, VB is not yet as good as C#. As far as open source goes, Gambas is worth a look, but really you're best sticking around with Microsoft for the moment, seeing as it is their language.

Free? VB?

Hi,

I do not think you will get a free VB compiler any where.

Bharathi...

SharpDevelop is free... As Pizentios would say... "free as in beer".
