Hi I am new here+Question

Hey, I just started learning C++.I need a good compiler though....
for mac!. I am trying to use Xcode, but the layout is very complicated since it is also for other languages.

Also, I have read through a ton of tutorials, so I understand the workings of C++, but is c++ capable of setting up like a checkerboard, so you can move a piece from one square to another, I should I be learning something different. I also have seen no tutorials for setting up a GUI in c++, my goal is to make like a checker game, but I do wan't to expand from there.

Welcome to the forums. C++ is very capable of creating your checkers game, and in fact, it can create just about anything you can think of. For simple 2D image manipulation, check out www.libsdl.org. It might be what you're looking for.

welcome to the forum....

gcc runs on Mac X doesn't it? since it is *nix based? Other than that, I don't know of a Mac compiler... (i'm anti-Mac (for no reason at all) )

C++ has the ability to create anything you desire... as long as the programmer can work out the logic and design.
