In need for a PHP programmer..
Greetings everybody,
There's been some time already since the first complains about the blogging module on my site (libervis, sig). The system used is a XOOPS weBlog module and it's not in development anymore (for a very long time now). In essence it is great, stable, simple multi user blog, but it lacks some needed features and customizsation ability. Now, to cut to the point i am posting here (where else ) in hope to find someone willing to put some spare time to adding some most essential features to it (to a good php programmer it would probably be a piece of cake) or even take the project and revive it's development. It is free, licensed under GPL so you're more than free to just take the code and start tampering with it.The main features we need currently are the ability to upload images, and if possible some personalization options for ones blog, which is in this case actually just a sum of all blog entries entered, not exactly an independant blog. I believe it can be done without much trouble and i believe that anyone with any significant skill with PHP can do it and practice his skills on it to be even better. You would of course have a full support from myself and libervis.com for helping out, hosting, testing, bug reports and of course a subdomain and an email address for a project. Although you can choose weather to have it in dev.xoops.org or anywhere else. Besides, alot of XOOPS portal system users would surely welcome someone to take this project on, although you of course don't need to oblige yourself to fullfill every wish as they see fit. You're the boss. Anyway, is anyone interested? I hope there is... Thank you very much in advance. Also if you have any special conditions and requests to take on this, please feel free to ask. Daniel

Hi,
I am fairly new to PHP programming but I would not mind lending a hand if I can. I should mention that there are a lot of free blogging scripts out there that you may possibly want to look at. Drop me a line if you would like to discuss it with me.

As long as i'm not the only one doing it, i'm an experienced PHP developper. I'll help out with it.

Great guys... well, it's not like you're gonna be on a tight leash with this or anyway, so anything you could do to add some features would be great and if you want to take it as your permanent project to maitain you are of course free to do so and i would fully support it.
So, tempest, if you would have MrLee and maybe if there would be someone else interested as well, you're in? You two is a nice start. Actually, depending on how much you'll be able to do you may be enough for now. But what am i talking about, as a Free Software (open source) project it's open to anyone. Just for the sake of organisation, you tempest could take a lead of the project.. EDIT. Oh, what a confused post this is ![]() Bottom line: let everyone interested say so and then we'll get to organising it a bit (hosting, testing, bug reports and bugzilla, project lead and so on).. Anyway, what do you say? Thank you

Oh and one more thing. While i thank big_k for the link, there is a newer version than that linked to: http://www.xoops.org/modules/reposit...cid=4&lid=1483
Also, searching for that newer version i just noticed in the comments that someone already seems to have revived the project and release weBlog 1.4. Hmm, i gotta try it first to say anthing further. However, if you guys are still interested you can still just take a look and see if you can contribute anything. Of course, with more help the module will get better faster. It's still not 100% sure that this Japanese guy will maintain it permanently after this 1.4 release. Ahh.. anyway.. we'll see.. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for the interest. ![]() Daniel

No problems..
Now that the module is obviously back in development (new version has just been released after almost a year of inactivity) everything looks much more optimistic. We still do miss features like image upload and all that was mentioned in original post however. Now, i believe it can be arranged like this. Everyone interested to help (including myself as a tester) should contact the current developer about making contributions and even, if willing, joining as a team. This way, with more people behind the project we can make those needed features and even some more cool ones much faster than the current developer would do himself. And we'd probably help revive the project once and for all for it to have a certain future. It's a great module and it gotta be kept alive. The new developer is tohokuaiki (yes japanese with somewhat bad english). He took the project after contacting wellwine (from now down, wellwine.net) so i believe he is in charge now. We can contact him and express our will to contribute. Despite that he is a japanese, i don't think he'd mind more people joining in with him with new ideas, knowledge and code and testing contributions. I will contact him soon. Thank you Daniel
