How Can I show soft hyphen(code no 173) character on IE/Firefox

Hello,
Recently I developed a webpage using non-English(Marathi) font LangscapgeDevPooja.ttf. The web page will be viewed on my machine or single machine only. The pages look OK on Firefox but few characters are omitted like soft hyphen. I tried various language and encoding options in the Content Type header but could not get any solution.
Any help will be appreciated.
Regards
[Sham]
