opening a cash register?

im sure this has been done a million times in other point of sale systems, but i am having trouble learning to open a till or cash register via a coputer. where is the best place to start looking for information on this? or does some-one know some common code that does it? any help would be great, thanx.

Welcome to the forums. I personally have never done this... but more than likely the computer will be connected to a certain port on the cash register... for instance, LPT1, PS2, or USB... you code sends a signal across the wire to the port and when the port receives the signal it pops over the till. All cash registers will have various ways to do this, so what works on one may not work on the other.
