hello
hi everyone! i'm Chrissie and i'm 17. i'm really interested in programming. well, just got an assignment and i would like to know what is meant by - if character < "a" OR character>"z"
Does this mean a character which is not in the alphabet like a dot? or is it a dumb statement? thx in advance ![]() |

It does. In most languages, this means a character with an ASCII value of less than the ASCII value of 'a' and greater than the ASCII value of 'z'. It also includes uppercase characters.

looks like that statement is attempting to focus on the ascii values between a and z. i have an idea of what your program wants but i can't truly see it without the rest of it.
