Olympic class programmers
Just a nosy question, but is there anybody here who treats programming like a sport, all the way down to the "right diet"? Do you practice, practice, practice for the real thing? Or is this something to occupy your time for most of you?

It is now. But I programmed professionally for about 22 years (1985 - 2007) >>is there anybody here who treats programming like a sport Not as a sport, but it does indeed take lots of practice to become proficient at it. Most of the effort is in debugging code that has already ben written. For every hour you spend writing code you will spend about 4 hours debugging. |

I agree with Ancient Dragon, most of your time spent will be debugging. I currently write code professionally and as a hobby. I don't really treat it as a sport, as it is more of a habit now.
