Freelance stuff
Mattireland has the right idea.
I want to be a graphic designer, but my portfolio is seriously lacking, right now I don't even really have one online (barring my photobucket with all kinds of random stuff). I use: Flash, Photoshop (decent), Fireworks, lo-tek (Paper, pencils, ink, pastels, etc), and Office type stuff (like for layouts for various paper print things). I am willing to do the following for free: -Simple Flash animations -Business logos -Cartoons (still) -Simple animated .gifs -Website images (like banners, navbars, sidebars, buttons, separators, basically any images which are used to format the site) The following are layouts+designs as I don't do printing -Business cards -Flyers -Pamphlets Theres probably other stuff I'll do, but I can't think of it right now. If you need something more in depth or harder, you can PM me and we can discuss it. Just drop me a PM if you have any questions.

What happened to the community project which was going to reverse the abysmal record of community projects as soon as summer came? Is that a non-contender? Just curious.

I had a falling out with PHP. We're seeing different people right now.
Though I'll still design for it if anyone's still even interested in the project.

You can't be blamed if you didn't keep your previous commitment because the dependable resources weren't there, even if you were were warned that they wouldn't be there.
Bailing out (study duties, or whatever) and saying, "I will return" was very MacArthuresque. Returning and failing to even mention the previous (uncompleted) task, impossible though it might have been, while introducing a NEW task, is somewhat pitiful. Maybe they won't remember? Shoot, you might not be transmitting an STD, but you're transmitting attitudes that lead to professional death. What's the difference?

A lot of the above things are projects that may take a few hours or a day to finish. These are small side projects that I want just to build my portfolio so that I have something to build up from.

Yeah but would do you think someone would be willing to hire someone based that they can work on something for a couple days? I would want to hire someone who I know could handle bigger things, and be willing to do whatever it took to get it finished. Anyone can small little things, but showing your willing to go the extra mile, and start something and stick with it even in the bad times, is manager material to me. Maybe not manager, but you know he wouldnt be the lowest pee-on

For what Indigno wants to do : build up a portfolio , stuff that you do in 2-3 days is perfect for showing what you can do. Usually a graphic design project won't take longer than a week.
So there's no point in "going the extra mile" . At least not at the moment.
