Web design...

I noticed that many people are posting about providing webdesign services. I thought what the hey I might post as well. It will most likeley load slow because of my slow internet connection.

The site loaded up slowly on a 100 Mbps connection. I see that you are using PNG files for the images. I suggest you use JPEGs! Other than that, the site looks really good man. Great job!

I guess my first suggestion would be to get an actual domain + webhosting then. Also, for the contact page, avoid mailto links and I suggest making the email address an image to avoid getting completely overwhelmed by spam bots. I generally dislike mailto links because I always use web mail clients and if I accidently click on one, I have to sit there while outlook or whatever default mail program starts trying to load.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have removed the mailto from the link and disguised the email address itself. I was wondering if I should get a domain. I wasn't sure if it was worth it. Does anyone know any good place to get hosting and a domain?

Why not just use a .tk? It's a forwarding service, but it's better than what you have. PLus its free, to forward, but if you buy it aint that expensive. I used 1&1 and hated them. I would suggest Powweb, or Godaddy

Keep the image as a png imo or gif if your worried about support. the loss on that logo is terrible.

I'm going to ask a question. Why would you put compliance logos on a web page? To me, that's like including a hit counter. Purely self-aggrandizing slop. No non-technical viewer cares. They only care what the page looks like. Those looking to hire you and pay a lot of money will no doubt examine the work. Images mean nothing.

Are you talking about the banner of the website or something from the portfolio?

Here is the jpg version of the banner
banner.jpg

Here is the gif version of the banner
banner.gif

I think the appearance might be because of the source images used. They were not as high quality as they should have been..

@DaWei: I haven't rally thought about it. I just do it, for some odd reason I feel like if the website passes the validation it should be noted as such. Do you think this might be viewed as a negative thing?
