Question Will he make it?

This thread is an extention to the "World Cup 2006" thread. This dude had a bet with a friend that she'll run naked in the World Cup finals (July 9) if his site gets 5 million hits by then http://www.sonjaswette.com/index_en.html

Refreshing wouldn't help. Is it counting unique IP addresses? Time restriction? Or lastly, a cookie? If it's the latter, it'd be way too easy to automate with two lines of scripting.

Edit: Damnit, it's not a cookie.

I think me and other friend once wrote a VB app to constantly access a web site and increment the web counter. The only problem was that the school network we were running it was slow so we could only put a few thousand more on the counter, but it was still more than the 100 or so where it was at when we started.

You realise this could easily be a scam though. Notice how there are advertisements on the top of the page? Don't you think it'd be a brilliant idea if you somehow managed to trick everyone to hitting your website 5 million times, potentially earning you tons of cash?

... >_>

If you look at the bottom of the page, there's an icon linking to the tracker. It has some different stats there...

It could have been because he reached 3 million and had to post the picture of her exposed breast. That could easily have been against the website host's TOS.
