Pygame tutorials?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a decent pygame tutorial to get me started with pygame, but I can't seem to find any. The tutorials on hte pygame website just leave me confused at what they are doing. Can anyone point me to a decent pygame tutorial for pygame newbies?

Thanks

That's one thing about Pygame. I found it difficult to understand what I was actually doing. It's only when I started using classes and methods that I could realise what was happening and use Pygame correctly. Before then, I was just basically copying code and using it in an inefficient manner.

The only tutorials for Pygame I know of, are those on their official website. If that leaves you confused, try downloading their featured projects and analyzing the source code.

If all else fails, take a step back and engross yourself in the more complex aspects of Python. Good luck.

Ok, thanks.

I'll keep trying and if It doesn't work out I'll move on to something else.

The pygame tutorials use pretty simple Python constructs. They should give you no problem if you've got a fair grasping of the Python language. Concentrate on learning Python first, then move onto playing with pygame. Good luck

I managed to find a decent PyGame podcast which I'm currently listening to, along with a new tutorial. Hopefully I'll be able to make a simple game in no time.
