media player?

i know this may seem to rush it a bit, but is it possible to make a media player with vb6 pro? what extensions do i need?

keep in mind i am a noob!

Im assuming that you know the basics of visual basic. But to make a media player might be be a bit to hard seen as you say your a noob. How about trying to make a basic mp3 player first. Just google "visual basic sound libraries" or somthing like that and you'll recieve lots of results. Then try geting use to all the visual basic controls until you feel comfterble. If you have and specific questions to the coding post back and someone will problly help out. Good luck

thnx so much.. yes i know the basic, like really basic stuff and am trying to learn more, but i was just wondering if it was possible, i was thinking of beginning with a simple player that just played music, but i just was wondering on the possibilites and if it was possible, and u saying this i must thank u

If you want it real basic, you can always try using the windows media player control, or realplayer control(I like real player better). It's not as fancy as creating your own control, but if you just want to learn how to play a song or something, it's easy enough, you can really explore with it, and you might learn something. To add one, you have to add the component. In vb6, I think you hit Project > Components ( from the menu), then find the windows media player control. It will show up in your toolbox where all your other controls are.
