Either i'm missing something, or you hit the bong a little bit too hard tonight .

If i'm just seeing things wrong, welcome chris.

Talking here's Chris :)

Hi there! How are you all?

This is actually a very nice forum guys, i'm very impressed! Good job.
I posted a question that i had, and right away a couple of members gave me their immediate responses, thanks so much. I'll get back to them as soon as possible, cause i'm currently away from my home PC.

I'll be coming back for more.

Languages...i have worked with Visual Basic, did some C++, and i'm currently studying Java, which i find to be a GREAT language. Primarily i use Windows for my OS due to University responsibilities, but i do have a Linux as well (Kubuntu). Anyway, i'm not a professional, i'm just about to finish my Information Systems Bachellor's degree from a University in California. I will continue with Graduate studies in Software Engineering most likely, if all goes well. I love programming.

Thanks for the welcoming note...assuming that was for me.

Great forum!

Welcome. As you can see some members are very excited about Java. In my humble/honest opinion, a little too excited

hehe...and why would that be so? if i may ask.
Personally i find it a bit friendlier than perhaps its equivalent C++.

Well I don't like that it doesn't compile to .exe on Windows. I don't like the classpaths and all that nonsense around compiling. I don't like the AWT, and the way the layout managers work. And I very much dislike Java Remote Method Invocation. Other than that, it's OK. Oh, I also didn't like the VM using so much memory, but that has improved a lot (it could also be my new machine with a gig of ram ). I'd definitely use C# instead of Java on Windows, I have yet to try Mono.
