Good C++ Books

I've been searching the Internet trying to find out what would be a good book to learn C++ from. I don't like using online tutorials in particular, and I don't have many programming books to know which ones are very good. After using JavaScript for Dummies, I don't want to go back to that series again. I heard that the Sams Teach Yourself series are quite good though. I'm basically wondering what you guys think are good books for learning C++.

I have a bit of experience with Visual Basic, I find it very easy, and I've heard it isn't very good so I want to go straight to C++.

Bruce Eckel's "Thinking in C++", Volumes I & II free online.

A bit of C knowledge may be helpful, but I did not find it necessary to understand the his books.

Our "How to Post...." thread, and other "How to ask questions the smart way" threads all recommend searching a forum first. You might want to try that, next time, and see why it's recommended practice....
