Sure. Download it. And as for learning, see the same site. It's packed with tutorials.

Yes, python is a good choice for begginers.

Few tutorials for you :
http://www.freenetpages.co.uk/hp/alan.gauld/ (This one is for completely newbies to programming. If you have never programmed before, and Python is your first language, maybe you can learn something useful here.)

One very big tutorial - http://honors.montana.edu/~jjc/easytut/easytut/

http://hkn.eecs.berkeley.edu/~dyoo/p...tro/index.html (This one describes basics of IDLE, IDE for Python. It has lot of pictures....)

One more - http://npt.cc.rsu.ru/user/wanderer/O...or_Newbies.htm

http://www.rexx.com/~dkuhlman/python...ython_101.html (This one is very good. I recommend it.)

E-book "How to think like Computer scientist" - http://www.ibiblio.org/obp/thinkCSpy/

http://www.hetland.org/python/instant-hacking.php (This is probably the oldest Python tutorial you can find, but contains some useful info.)

---------
Just choose some tutorial, and start programming :p

Smile

That is included in the normal Python download as part of Python24.chm, at least for Windows.

I like http://www.byteofpython.info/
