html go bye-bye
So, another idea of mine that I have been tossing around in the back of my head has been replaceing html with a more structured language. Do you think its possable? Do you think there is a need?

It's been done. XHTML.

... No it isn't.
In what way do you think it is worse?

Probably wouldn't hurt you to go off behind the barn, study the things you THINK you know about, get real and decide what's real, instead of just riding off in all directions at once. Then go and invent the miraculous things that aren't already there.

You asked only there was a need for a more structured language, and you should have known xhtml is more structured. If you'd formulated your question different, we should have known you already knew a lot about it. There are many members who construct their questions also like this, and don't know even something about it.

lol, how stupid am I? I did the same thing on a different forum only I was the one with over 500 posts and I ended up apologizing.
Lets try this again, shall we? html (and xhtml respectively) have been around since the early 90s (I think). Way back then it was used mostly for the purpose of changing font sizes and probably simple tables. (Correct me if I am wrong please) Each version of html afterwards added to the origional syntax. Even xhtml is backwords-compatable with html 4.01. Basically my position it like this... There are too many tags and no exact way to position them. Html is easy to use though and I want to keep that quality. I was thinking only 4 or 5 tags. With several attributes in both armature ( left="500" ) and professional ( x:l'500' ) syntax options. Also expanding the standard options for easy to use mods. Like custom borders and rounded corners built-in. All syntax rules are still up for modification though. Don't worry about phaseing it in. I already got plans for makeing it backwords-compatable with html. Don't worry about flash plug-ins and stuff. If I ever make it to that point I will have assistance by then. |

I'm actaully laughing because he told DaWei to close Dreamweaver.
Thanks for the laugh.
