Teecha builds a SuSe box

FYI, Teecha / Rebecca (my fiance)... installed and configured a SuSe Linux box this past weekend and will be installing Apache, PHP, and MySQL to start some web development soon. She is making an educational website for her students.

Just wanted you to know that females do actually have interests in computers / programming... Although, very rare. lol

When I told my girlfriend that I had built a box , she thought I meant a shoebox.

You're right, computing females are few and far between... It's a shame.

Too bad there wasn't any teachers like her at my high school i attended, that way I wouldn't have had to criticize it so much.

She probably will be popping in here soon. She and I will be putting the finishing touches on the SuSe box and after that, she will probably come around to mingle amongst the PFOers as she gathers some ideas for her website. Normally, her questions are directed at me, so I take away the need to ask questions on the forums. But maybe you guys can convince her that being crazy comes with the field? lol

Man, I had two, and they've both dropped CS. Count yourself lucky. :p

I agree with computing females being few and far between but believe me we are here. Oh and yeah being crazy definitely comes with the field.
