Smile C Compiler turbo C

hay,

i have three questions here to ask.
1- i downloaded C compiler from borland site(turbo C 2.01 version).
Because our requirement is with file handling. Is the above version enough
to handle file manipulation in windows Platform
(should i have to mind anything(lack of platform(winxp) or min memory) if i use Turbo C compiler?)

2-I get TC.exe compiler to work with IDE from dos prompt.
(but if i want to compile and run the file without IDE (want to Com&Run at command line itself),how to do it.)
[just Command TC filename.c wont compile and give me Exe file? ]

3.should i have to change B&W mode each time from Dos prompt.
[if i dont want to use IDE]? (Because i guess to my requirement only command line option is enough, i dont want IDE enviroment to edit the file)
(To edit file i will used windows notepad.)

could you pls clear my doubts.
ambichan.
