*shrugs* I am not sure I understand....
Furthermore, I am not an ASP programmer... but doesn't that stand for something like "Active Server Page(s)".. implying that it is a webbased service... why would someone want to access the HDD serial and or BIOS serial information over a website? Unless perhaps someone is doing it to create an info page for their server... which would completely negate the understanding from the poll that there is some intent to use this as a means of software control.

maybe using a webservice... grabbing registry info, etc.
i dont think i fully understand either.
