I know this is quite a large subject, but if ne1 knows of any good books, or can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it a lot. Basically, I just want to create a totally new L&F. yeah, just that

Why would you need books? Good design is learnt through experience, not from tutorials. Take a look at the layout of the applications and web sites you visit frequently. Write down what you like, and what you don't. Then use it as a basis for your own stuff.
