Norton Ghost Problem
I have an .exe of Norton Ghost 8 that I have been using to make backup Images of my different hard drives. I use a desktop specifically for making the backup images; I just stick the HD that I want to make an image of in as a secondary HD and then just run the .exe in WinXP and save the image to an external USB HD. When I run the .exe it opens up a DOS terminal window which then runs it, which then opens up another window that Ghost actually runs in. My problem is I want to backup my laptop HD, but I can’t get that into my desktop, so I need a Ghost boot disk. Does anyone know of a way to make a bootable DOS disk capable of running that .exe? I used Nero to make what seemed to be a bootable DOS disk, but when I tried to run that .exe it said it couldn’t run in DOS mode. So I don’t know if it was the .exe or the way I made the boot disk. If I could get this to work I could just plug the external HD into my laptop and then run Ghost from the boot disk and then save the image of the HD off.
If I can’t get this to work, does anyone know of any program that can make backup images sort of like Ghost does, but doesn’t suck as much as Ghost?
