I saw this one guy who had bald eagles he was raising. They were big enough to feed dead baby chickens (the yellow ones)... Then again I dont know what kind of animals there are in your state but I am shure that they are pretty much the same kind as in any state. If your going to raise the bird shouldn't you contact say a local wildlife center and ask them what the birds eat before you get them. When I get a new animal I prefer snakes or ferrets, I always do a little reaserch on the type of, say, snake it is. i.e. what kind of food it eats, where it likes to hide, things like that...

I lived on a Reservation for many years - the folks there kept eagles for ceremonial use.

One of the eagles really liked raw bacon... anyway, even baby eagles eat raw meat. Jerk it into small strips and feed that to 'em. Bacon aside, smoked or cured salty meats are a bad idea.

won't growing up in captivity hinder their ability to acclimate once released? (i.e. how will they know how to get food in the real word if you "release them")

Most skills that the babies need are already engrained into them from birth.....like most other wild animals. however, it'd still be cool to teach your eagle to hunt (read: maul people's faces).

You're really starting to sound like the male counter-part of that devil woman in your avatar. :p
