PRoffesionals, pls be my guide.

Hello... Guys.. currently i already learned some of the basics in... and im planning to study(actually studying) in c++. But i am a bit confused about my progress, or do i really progress in c programming?, pls post some c problems(for example: write a program that records student data, or write a program that changes the string to its plural forms) that i would answer, it would be a great help to asses my skills... I may not be able to answer your problems.. but it would be a great help in filling the gap that i missed... I believe that in order to excell, one needs to master its foundation and for me that would be mastering c... thank your dearest gurus

I suggest you don't try to learn C when you want to learn C++.
It's more important to learn paradigms than some language. OO is very useful in programming, it can easily be applied in C++. Just search google for C++ challenges. There are also many programming competitions which contain problems to be solved. Those are nice for assessing your skills.

I would also suggest you not cross-post, as it's against the rules.

I would recommend that you buy a C++ book, and you won't regret it. (so you don't have to search all over the net for something...) :-)

Until you asked that question, I had no problems with your post. Trolling or, in this case, sideways shots at others is not really appropriate in this forum.

DaWei has his quirks, as do we all, and one of those is being more blunt than some others with newbies who ignore the forum rules/guidelines. But people rarely come into his sights unless they've earned it, and he is regularly among the first to help people constructively if they ask their question clearly and follow the forum guidelines.

Like DaWei, I also do not like posts from beginners who simply jump in and demand help to poorly thought out questions (and, in the worst cases, then throw a tanty when people don't clamour to help or when someone points them at "How to ask a Question" threads). My approach is quieter, but actually less helpful than DaWei's: I often simply ignore such posts.

If you've come into DaWei's sights for something (and the most common reason is that he has told you off for something), then you might want to consider the possibility that you earned it. That's not saying you shouldn't respond if you believe his comments are unwarranted, but having digs at him throughout the forum is childish, and not the way to encourage others to help you.

Ok you have no idea what that is meant for so why do you have something to say about it? DaWei jumped on MY back and started saying things like I couldn't read and all that. I have every right in the world to say anything that I want. There are forum rules yes, and I follow them. DaWei seems to have a problem with everything I say for no reason whatsoever. Simply asking if there was a problem with my post, when it seems to me that he has a problem with every post of mine is not a crime.

And with your last post you actually confirmed the main points of my previous post.

Don't make the mistake of thinking people are stupid. You asked the question to have a dig at DaWei. Whatever disagreements you've had with DaWei in other threads (I neither know nor care) dragging them into this thread is inappropriate. Sort them out in the other threads on a case-by-case basis, if you must, rather than spraying them over the forum.

I am not saying or thinking that anyone is stupid here. No I didn't ask the question to have a "dig" at DaWei. It was a simple question becouse of my wondering why DaWei has such a big problem with me when I did nothing to him. A simple question asking if he had a problem with it and if he doesn't then this will be the first post that I have made recently that he hasn't had a problem with.

Well, if your goal is to make a post he doesn't have a problem with, I'd say you've entirely annihilated the possibility of that happening in this thread, wouldn't you?
