Sleep.
I'd just like to know how you guys view sleeping in general. I end up going to bed late because there's so many better things to be doing. So I sleep about 7 hours a day Instead of 8.
Does anyone know any long term side affects of sleep deprivation? Moreover, how many hours of sleep do you get?

. I get about 7 hours on average, though when I am particularly stressed or wired, I get about 6. I should definitely be sleeping more then I currently do.

During university i would get somewhere between 5-6 hours during the week. THen crashed on the weekend for 10 hour days, sleep deprevation is the worst.
Now that im on coop i get between 7 and 8, much better, and im never tired. That being said, sleep appears to suck until you get way too little, then it has its way of changing your mind. lol |

I have insomnia, so it used to be usually about 3 - 4 hours, but it's getting better now, and I sleep for about 6 hours a night.
Not sure about long term effects of sleep deprivation (except in extreme cases), but if you sleep poorly for a while, you'll be constantly fatigued, you won't think clearly, your eyes will likely get dry, bloodshot and itchy and you'll get a lot of headaches. |

I usually get somewhere from 3-4 as well. I don't know, I just can't seem to get anymore.

I get about 5 to 8 hours, when it runs to 3-4 hours, I get headaches.
I'd like it to be 7 - 9 hours, but I don't want to sleep my life away.

My routine tends to get me anything between 3 - 5 hours, also because theres better things to be doing than sleep. Though i'd love to say it was programming, for me its not; its learning to program. it always seems your slacking and slouching back into your seat and after a couple of hours of contemplating falling into bed when you get a breakthrough. minor though it may be, its just enough to satisfy your mind and urges you to get stuck on the next problem.
i believe 3 - 5 hours is a bad nights sleep but wouldnt be able to get to sleep for thinking anyway. also UnKnown X makes a good statement of symptoms and when this occurs you Should consider taking some sleeping tablets.

Unfortunately, I usually only get to bed 8 hrs before my alarm goes off, and that's when I don't have any impending deadlines... and weekends I usually stay up extra late because I don't have classes... :o |
