I installed FreeBSD on my home computer and I was wondering how do I change the screen resolution? When I start up the computer it works fine, then I type 'startx' and xwindows starts... When it does...

Ok I got the desktop to come up, but on the screen my mouse goes crazy and I only see like two icons... Icons that take up 1/4 of the screen... How do I resize this? and how do I get my mouse to stop...

None of these work... I have the book FreeBSD Unleashed and when I try them I get the following...
gdm: only root wants to run gdm.
